Interior Minister Eli Yishai left Israel for the United States, Saturday night, in his role as leader of the Sephardic-hareidi Shas party, to pay a condolence call on the family of Rabbi Mordechai Zev Wolfson, who passed away last week.
Yishai carried a letter from the party's spiritual leader, former chief rabbi Ovadia Yoseph, in which he recalled a time Rabbi Wolfson visited him. Rabbi Yoseph said he told the rabbi that one of the prophets used a certain grammatical form which contained Rabbi Wolfson's initials because the prophet anticipated the work Rabbi Wolfson would do to strengthen Torah institutions throughout the world.
