The Komemiyut movement criticized on Tuesday evening President Shimon, who condemned Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria during a memorial ceremony for Binyamin Zeev Herzl.
“The settlement in Judea and Samaria is the moral justification for our being in Israel, it strengthens the Jewish majority and Jewish identity, and leads in all fields of endeavor in Israel,” the movement said in a statement.
“We regret that the President continues to constantly use the presidential institution to promote a clear leftist agenda. For many years, Peres wore a political hat and we are paying today for the outcomes of his dreams,” added Komemiyut.
