President Shimon Peres condemned Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria during a memorial ceremony Tuesday for Binyamin Zev Herzl. “The Israeli settlement in territories with a dense Arab population, which followed their attack on us, is likely to lead to a demographic threat,” he said.
“That is,” he added, “a danger to the Jewish majority in the land of Israel. A Jewish state without a Jewish majority will probably not be able to stay Jewish.”
