Barak: Akirov Apartment Was Alienating

Defense Minister Ehud Barak commented, Sunday evening, on his decision to sell his apartment in the Akirov Towers in Tel Aviv. In a message posted to his Facebook page, Barak said the apartment “gives a sense of alienation and detachment from the public and so we decided to move to a smaller and less expensive apartment.”

He added, “I was not raised with a silver spoon. After the end of my term as prime minister I turned to the private sector, and in those years I earned my property laboriously. Throughout the period as a law-abiding citizen, my business was transparent and I paid full taxes lawfully.”
