It was announced, Sunday, that Defense Minister Ehud Barak sold his apartment in Tel Aviv's Akirov Towers for 26.5 million shekels, according to Ha'aretz's The Marker business publication. He had sought NIS 30 million. The purchaser was either a foreign company or an Israeli who did not want to be identified.
Barak and his wife are moving to another luxury apartment they purchased about two years ago on the grounds of the old Assuta Hospital in Tel Aviv for about eight million shekels. With an estimated net worth of about 70 million shekels, Barak was listed by Forbes Israel a few months ago as the country's third wealthiest politician.
