The vote Wednesday on “Joubran’s Law” will be a moment of truth for the Yisrael Beiteinu party, MK Michael Ben-Ari said. If members of the party vote against the bill “it will be clear that Lieberman’s talk about citizenship and loyalty was intended solely to get votes, and was not meant to be put into practice,” he charged.
Yisrael Beitenu members have so far expressed opposition to the bill, Ben-Ari noted. The bill would make appointment to the Supreme Court conditional on completion of either IDF service or civilian national service.
