Barak's Office: No Worry about Committee Leaks

The office of Defense Minister Ehud Barak issued a statement, Sunday evening, that it had no complaints about leaks from subcommittees of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. Reports of concerns over such leaks came out a Sunday meeting between Barak, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin as part of Rivlin's efforts to lower tensions between the coalition partners and Committee Chairman Shaul Mofaz, who also heads some of its subcommittees.

Barak's office said there had never been leaks out of the subcommittees, noting that under the separation of authority, investigations and plans are first presented at the operational level, then to Barak and the political echelon, and only after that are they presented to the committee or the subcommittees. Barak offered to appear before the committee to clarify anything that needed clarifying, under current operating parameters.
