Two 17 year olds from the Arab village Jisr a-Zarka were arrested Sunday on suspicion that they threw rocks at cars traveling on the coastal road from Haifa to Tel Aviv, as the cars passed under the bridge that leads to their village.
The two threw a rock that hit the car of a resident of Rishon Le-Tzion, who luckily escaped unhurt.
Three youths from the Arab village of Fouradis, not far from Jisr a-Zarka, were charged with similar offenses last week. In October of 2000, a rock thrown from the Jisr a-Zarka bridge killed a Jewish motorist, Bechor Jan.
