Behind every engagement announcement lies a story. For Tamar, a secretary in Jerusalem, her recent engagement carries a bittersweet weight that few brides experience.
After losing her father to a fatal illness, the young Israeli woman is ecstatic to be announcing her engagement. While most brides dream of their perfect day, Tamar's greatest wish is simpler - to see joy return to her widowed mother's eyes as she walks her only daughter down the aisle. But with just one month until the wedding and basic necessities still unfunded, this devoted daughter needs help making that dream come true.
“I am getting married in about a month, and I still have nothing – please help me get there and make my widowed mother happy. Helping a bride and making a widow happy is a great mitzvah. I don’t have anyone in the world who can help me, so I am asking if you can please assist us in having a basic wedding, finding a place to live, and affording a place to live.”
Years of her father’s illness have left Tamar and her widowed mother with no savings. Tamar is turning to the public to help her afford to get married.
