An Israeli man in his 30s was killed on Tuesday in a snowmobile accident at the Azuga ski resort in central Romania.

The man, who had gone on a trip with three friends, lost control of the snowmobile during the ride and fell into a creek from a height of five meters.

Rescue teams who arrived at the scene managed to retrieve him from the creek, and he was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.

The Foreign Ministry stated that the Department for Israelis Abroad and the Consul in Romania are in contact with the family of the deceased and are assisting with the procedures for bringing his body to Israel for burial.
