At least four people were injured, one seriously, in rocket strikes on residential areas in Ashdod Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters were dispatched to a scene where seven vehicles caught fire as a result of a rocket impact.
Four people were evacuated to Assuta Medical Center from two different sites where rockets struck. A 50-year-old man is in serious condition with shrapnel wounds to his body. Three other men are in light condition with injuries caused by broken glass.
Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedic Igor Artel said: "We were dispatched to the scene where a rocket was reported to have fallen in a parking lot next to a residential building. We carried out searches and citizens on the scene led us to a wounded man who was inside a house and his body was hit by shrapnel. We gave him life-saving medical treatment in the field that included stopping life-threatening bleeding, and quickly evacuated him to the hospital as his condition was serious and unstable."
Earlier, Hamas resumed firing heavy rocket barrages at the Tel Aviv region.
The Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted multiple rockets. However, shrapnel from destroyed rockets fell in Tel Aviv and Petah Tikvah. A rocket also struck the Qalansawe area.
