Likud MK Danny Danon said in an interview today (Tuesday) to Radio 103FM that Prime Minister Netanyahu decided to reduce the reform to only two sections - the reasonability clause and the committee for selecting judges.
According to him, "Netanyahu is the captain of the ship, and Levin's plan that was presented a few months ago was reduced to the reasonability clause and the committee for selecting judges."
Regarding the discussions on reducing the reasonability clause, Danon said: "I have always said that if it is possible to reach broad agreements, that is excellent. Even now, if it is still possible, there is still time until Sunday to agree on a wordin."
He also added: "Sometimes parties are in the heat of the struggle and forget the possibility to talk. We in the Knesset understand this importance. The attempt to come and say 'don't you dare legislate' strengthened the elements in the coalition. The approach is 'let's talk about the wording'."
Regarding tensions with the US, Danon said: "Biden's meeting with the Prime Minister is necessary, we need this picture. Nasrallah and others need to look at the coordination and see that there is coordination between Israel and the United States. I estimate that this will happen either in August or in mid-September at the General Assembly in NewYork."
