Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly attacked the establishments of illegal outposts in Judea and Samaria following the murderous attack in Eli last week.
In a recording from a Likud faction meeting which was published on Channel 13 News on Monday evening, Netanyahu is first heard criticizing the members of the government who have been giving interviews to the media.
"I tell you, loose lips sink ships, but we need to put some kind of restraint on the loose lips. Every day there is some new invention, some new ‘start-up,’" Netanyahu said.
He then responded to MK Danny Danon, who claimed that there was no Israeli response to the attack in Eli, and said, "Guys, stop it. We will respond strongly."
Netanyahu listed the approvals given after the attack for the construction of housing units in Judea and Samaria, as well as the approvals that have been given since the establishment of the government, and added, "When they put up some five outposts a few hundred meters away, there is no justification for it, no justification."
"What is this?" Netanyahu wondered. "1,000 housing units are neighborhoods, but they had to add a few outposts. Why? So that the United States will come and say, 'We are withdrawing the recognition of universities beyond the Green Line.' Brilliant."
