An IDF soldier was lightly injured in a ramming attack on Monday evening in the Arab village of Huwara in Samaria.

IDF soldiers spotted the suspected vehicle shortly after, pursued it and apprehended the assailant. A knife was located in the vehicle.

The assailant was transferred to security forces for further questioning.

An MDA team administered medical care to the victim and took him to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikvah.

The IDF wrote in a statement following the attack: "A short while ago, an IDF soldier was lightly injured by a vehicle adjacent to the Bitot Junction. The incident is under review. The soldier was evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment, and his family has been notified."

The military is assessing whether the incident was an accident or an attack, since the vehicle hit the soldier as he was crossing the road and did not veer off to hit him.
