Justice Minister Yariv Levin is continuing his attempts to gather support for a significant judicial reform and is in direct contact with the chairman of the Ra’am Party, MK Mansour Abbas, for this purpose, Channel 12 News reported on Thursday.

According to the report, Abbas is demanding that the Likud stop attacking his party and that it have a significant impact on parts of the reform.

The demands of the Ra’am chairman concern both the issues of appointing judges and a significant increase and powers related to the eradication of crime in the Arab sector.

As a confidence-building step, Levin agreed to approve in the Ministerial Committee for Legislation, which he heads, a bill for the establishment of a hospital in Sakhnin that passed a preliminary reading, at the request of Ra’am.

Levin's office and the Ra'am Party denied the report and claimed that the only contacts regarding the reform are taking place at the President's Residence.
