A terrorist imprisoned in the Megiddo Prison attempted to attack a guard Wednesday evening as the inmates were being counted.
The guard, who was serving as the shift commander, pressed the distress button, and teargas was used to restore order.
At the same time, reinforcements were called, and managed to take control of the incident, which ended without any injuries.
Following the death of senior Islamic Jihad terrorist Khader Adnan in prison, the Prisons Service prepared for attempts to harm guards.
Since the terrorist's death, the prisoners have not been permitted to leave their cells.
