Tucker Carlson has parted ways with Fox News, which said, “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” in a statement.
Carlson’s last show was Friday, and he signed off at its conclusion saying that he'd be "back on Monday."
Fox has said it will be airing a new program called “Fox News Tonight” starting Monday evening as an interim show, led by rotating Fox News personalities until a new host is named.
Carlson was Fox’s top-rated prime time host, netting an average of more than 3 million viewers per night.
While the network has thus far refused to elaborate on the reasons for its decision, it may be linked to Fox's recent settling of a massive defamation suit with Dominion Voting Systems for $787.5 million, over "dissemination of election lies."
