It has been cleared for publication that over the past several months, the Police and Israeli Security Agency (Shin-Bet) arrested five residents of the Druze town of Yarka in northern Israel who kidnapped three Palestinian Arabs from the Hebron region several months ago.
The suspects carried out the kidnapping in response to an incident during which Palestinian Arab terrorists captured and held the body of Tiran Fero, a young Druze man from Daliyat Al Karmel who died following a car accident in Jenin.
The Shin-Bet and costal's district police's investigation found that in November 2022, after the capture of Tiran Fero's body was published, Ali Fathi Ali Atallah, 20, Karim Yusuf Salim Atallah, 23, Wal Fakhri Muhammad Atallah, 21, and two additional men (who were minors at the time of the offense), decided to avenge the capture.
On November 24th, in the middle of the night, the five arrived at a complex on Yarka where Palestinian workers slept and kidnapped three Palestinian residents of Hebron while threatening them with weapons.
The five took the Palestinians to a secluded place in the trunk of their car, forced them to call their families and inform them that they were kidnapped, and attacked them until they bled while telling the victims that the attack was because they were Palestinians and as revenge for the capture of Tiran. After the attack, the defendants released the victims in an adjacent area and after which they needed medical attention.
The investigation also found that the suspects contacted each other ahead of time after they saw social media posts about the body-snatching, armed themselves with weapons, clubs, knives, and ski masks, and searched for potential victims.
The detention of the suspects is being extended as needed, and on Thursday, after completing the investigation, the Haifa district prosecution submitted an indictment in the district court against those involved for severe security offenses.
