Israeli police have arrested six suspects in connection with rioting in the Palestinian Arab town of Huwara earlier this week, following the murder of two Jewish men as they drove through the town.

Four adults and two minors were taken into custody in Samaria overnight as part of an undercover police operation targeting rioters involved in assaults on Arab residents of Huwara and property damage in the village.

The six are suspected of arson, disrupting the peace, assault, and property damage.

Police interrogators questioned the six suspects Wednesday morning, and the suspects are slated to be brought before a judge in Jerusalem for an extension of their arrests.

The investigation into the Huwara riots is ongoing, and additional arrests are expected.

On Sunday afternoon, a terrorist shot and killed 21-year-old Hillel Yaniv and his brother, 19-year-old Yagel Yaniv, after he forced their car to stop on Route 60 in the middle of Huwara. The terrorist then fled the scene, and still remains at large.

Hours later, hundreds of Jews gathered in Huwara to protest the attack.

Clashes broke out between some of the Jewish protesters and Arab stone throwers, leading to riots in the village.

Over 100 cars in several scrap-yards were torched, along with 35 buildings.

Some 380 Arabs were reportedly injured in the riots, with one man shot and killed in a neighboring village.
