Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar, the director of the Foreign Ministry, Ronen Levi, and the Coordinator of Government Activities in Judea and Samaria Ghassan Alian will participate tomorrow (Sunday) in the Aqaba summit in Jordan.
Israel's national security adviser Tzachi Hanegbi will participate in the summit as well, together with senior officials from the US, Jordan, Egypt, and the Palestinian Authority.
The summit, initiated by the United States, Jordan, and Egypt, is being held Sunday in an attempt to stop the escalation between Israel and the Palestinian Arabs. Israel was offered by the Americans to participate in the meeting, during which the security officials will discuss ways to calm tensions in the region during the Islamic month of Ramadan, which generally sees an uptick in Palestinian violence.
