On February 5th, 2023, IDF, Israel Border Police, and Israel Police forces thwarted a drug smuggling attempt worth 50 million NIS, apprehended an individual suspected of attempting the smuggling and confiscated a vehicle used by the smugglers.
IDF soldiers spotted a number of suspects attempting to smuggle drugs from Egypt into Israeli territory. Israel Border Police and Israel Police forces were dispatched to the scene, apprehended the suspect, confiscated his vehicle and 120 kg of drugs estimated at 50 million NIS.
The suspect, confiscated vehicle and drugs were transferred to the Israel Police for further processing.
