Jewish firefighters in Kiryas Joel, New York rescued the driver of a taxi that had burst into flames, saving his life, according to Yeshiva World News.

The taxi driver was driving through the Hasidic town when he lost control of his vehicle, crashing into a cement barricade. The crash caused the tax to become engulfed in flames, according to the report.

Witnesses at the scene watched in horror as the taxi burst into flames with the driver trapped inside. According to eye witness accounts, the fire spread increasingly close to the driver, who was unable to extricate himself from the wrecked taxi, threatening his life.

But the town’s firefighters arrived promptly and saved the driver’s life. After getting the fire under control, they were able to help the driver to safety before the fire injured or killed him, Yeshiva World News reported
