MK Yaakov Asher of United Torah Judaism claims that incitement against the haredim is based on lies, and explained why there is no ultra-orthodox advocacy to fight incitement.
"It's all lies, the haredim will always be everyone's scapegoat," Asher said on Kol Chai radio regarding incitement in the media against the haredim. "Apparently this is what we were destined for," he said and added that "in my role as mayor of Bnei Brak, I prepared a detailed plan with a haredi philanthropist for haredi advocacy, but Rabbi Steinman said it won't help, it's a catastrophe."
Rabbi Steinman was a Haredi rabbi in Bnei Brak and leader of the Lithuanian haredi sect. He was regarded as a Gadol HaDor (leader of the generation) after the death of Rabbi Elyashiv in 2012.
Asher reassured those who were afraid of the new government, saying: "We have prepared a very detailed plan regarding equality in the education systems. Once that happens we will live in a reality that has never existed before. This will also affect teachers' salaries."
"The yeshiva budget has increased significantly and for the first time, it will all be included in the budget and updated according to the index. We will no longer need to ask for favors from treasury officials every year," he said.
