World Likud chairman and former Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, participated in a conference of the Sovereignty Now movement that took place in Kibbutz Sde Nahum, located in the Beit She'an Valley in northern Israel.
A video posted to social media, in which Danon is seen dancing with activists, raised the ire of pro-Palestinian activists who blasted the tweet.
One activist wrote, “If y’all are missing your daily dose of Zionists ‘peacemaking’ garbage, I got something for you.” Another activist wrote: “A group of terrorists.”
At the conference itself, Danon said, "When I was Israel's Ambassador to the UN, I did a lot of work together with Netanyahu to promote the idea of applying sovereignty in Judea and Samaria. Thanks to these actions, the idea of sovereignty became relevant and practical. With great effort, we removed from the discourse the dangerous ideas that were an existential threat to the State of Israel, and in their place, we introduced the idea of sovereignty.”
"Two years ago, we were a step away from applying Israeli sovereignty to parts of Judea and Samaria," Danon added. "In November, we will return to power, return to promoting the application of sovereignty. There is nothing more just, moral, and correct in terms of security and demographics for the State of Israel than the application of Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria."
