Communications Minister Yoaz Hendel (Derech Eretz) and Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked (Yamina) on Monday met to discuss whether to run together in the upcoming elections, Israel Hayom reported.

According to the report, Hendel is demanding that Shaked share leadership of the party, and that all decisions be made together, as well as a top spot on the party's list.

During the meeting, the two discussed the list of their demands. Sources close to them said that there are disagreements, but that they are not issues which cannot be resolved, and that there is cautious optimism regarding a possible joint run.

Last week, Shaked tweeted, "Soon there will be good, important, and surprising news. In the meantime I will say only this: We are running until the end, for the sake of this nation and this land."

But according to a recent poll by Channel 12 News, the addition of Hendel would push Yamina from its previous 1.9 to 2.8%, still well below the 3.25% voting threshold required to enter the Knesset.
