If you think I’m nuts for calling Benjamin Netanyahu the underdog, then you haven’t been following the news where they had Bibi getting trounced.
The media had it like that if not through facts, then surely through wishful thinking…and oh how they wished.
They forgot that Israel is “the little nation that could,” which makes it a nation full of surprises.
Netanyahu’s win – as appears to be the case – fooled them all, from The New York Times and across the seas to Haaretz, and, horrors, it’s Trump all over again.
The agony of defeat a second time.
Israel does not have the luxury to rip itself apart through petty squabbles. The enemy seeks to exploit any weakness from within. They are still not past Trump the first surprise. How will they digest Netanyahu, who was also measured for a hanging?
Will they recover their good senses? That has not happened in the United States where the drubbing knows no end and the Left, the Democrats, just won’t quit. More investigations.
So how will this work in Israel? We know it will be “politics as usual,” because it’s like that in any wild and crazy free country.
Plus, in Israel there are something like 41 parties. Why so many? Because, as we keep saying, among Jews, everybody has “A BETTER IDEA.”
Now the job, for Netanyahu, is to cobble them together for that 61-seat Knesset majority.
Perhaps something can be learned from the American experience.
Our Leftists are mad as hell and refuse to take no…no at the polls, for an answer. Because of that, it is neighbor against neighbor.
It has been so for two years…the streets paved with bitterness…with no signs of a let-up.
Wearing a Trump MAGA hat in public is dangerous.
We are two nations under G-d…and the Democrats aren’t even sure about G-d.
Chances are, it won’t be, it can’t be that way in Israel after the dust has settled.
All we’ve got to worry about here in the USA are the millions crashing our southern border. That is plenty to worry about.
Trump correctly calls it an invasion.
But that is nothing like the invasion Israel faces from all its borders…and this enemy comes not to dwell in the land, but to destroy the land, and its people.
Israel does not have the luxury to rip itself apart through petty squabbles. The enemy seeks to exploit any weakness from within.
The Israelis surely know this and whether their man yesterday was Gantz or Netanyahu, today, it’s over.
They will put politics aside, which so often brings out the worst, and move forward, as always, with their finer instincts in place and their better natures intact.
If the Israeli do that, America will say thanks. Thank you for showing us how it’s done.
