Sources in the United Arab List (Ra'am) on Monday morning reported that their party is in contact with the Likud and expected to meet with Knesset Speaker MK Yariv Levin (Likud) in the coming days, News 12 reported.

The report also said that the leaders of the Joint Arab List will meet Monday, and five of them will support recommending Yesh Atid chief MK Yair Lapid for prime minister. However, MK Samy Abu Shahadeh from the party's Balad faction is expected to oppose recommending anyone for the position.

Over the weekend, Lapid met party heads, including with the United Arab List's Mansour Abbas, in order to ensure that he has the largest number of MKs recommending him.

All 17 members of Yesh Atid are expected to recommend Lapid for prime minister, along with Yisrael Beytenu's seven MKs, Meretz's six, and Labor's seven. As such, Lapid is expected to receive 37 recommendations.

If the Blue and White party and the Joint Arab List also recommend Lapid, he will have 51 MKs recommending him, and stands a high chance of being tapped to form a government.
