A day after losing the election for the Judicial Appointments Committee, former Justice Minister Yamina MK Ayelet Shaked blames senior Likud members for waging a bitter struggle against her.

"The Likud worked very hard so that I would not be elected. Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin called MKs and ministers himself and threatened elections; no Knesset member wants another election. Of course it's complete nonsense, but it had an effect," Shaked said in an interview with Galei Tzahal.

Although the Likud promised to support Shaked in the Committee for Appointing Dayanim, she was not elected to this committee either and lost by a landslide. "I congratulate MK Michaeli and MK Eichler. I made a revolution and elected conservative judges, and I hope they'll continue along this line," Shaked said.

Counting the votes in the Knesset revealed that MKs Zvi Hauser and Osnat Mark were elected to serve as members of the Judicial Appointments Committee.

Hauser (Derech Eretz) won 66 votes, Mark (Likud) 56, Karin Elharar (Yesh Atid-Telem) 47, and Ayelet Shaked (Yamina) 43.

MKs Merav Michaeli (Labor) and Yisrael Eichler were elected as representatives to the committee for the appointment of judges. Eichler defeated the other candidates by a large margin when he won 84 votes, Merav Michaeli received 66, and Shaked 65.

It was also reported yesterday that Coalition Speaker MK Miki Zohar and Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin threatened Likud MKs ahead of the vote.

Likud MKs received messages from Zohar and Levin, according to which "if you do not vote with the coalition, there will be primaries in the Likud today."

Zohar and Levin warned the MKs, "Ayelet Shaked's election will lead to elections tomorrow, we'll settle accounts with you. This will be the straw that will break the camel's back."
