Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked spoke at the Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference in New York Sunday, and revealed that Israel has been in contact with the Trump Administration in order to add Israel to the list of countries whose citizens do not require a visa to enter the US.

"I will work in Washington DC on something that is very important to all Israelis," Shaked said of the talks on the visa waiver program. "I hope that we will finalize it in the coming year."

"I think the Trump government will continue to positively surprise us. First, as I mentioned, regarding the two-state solution. Second, the proposed move of the American Embassy's from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the Jewish people.

Minister Shaked said that President Trump should not do anything to transfer the embassy. "On June 1, if he doesn't sign a waiver, the embassy will need to move to Jerusalem in accordance with American law," she recalled.

"Israel is no longer the punching bag of the United Nations anymore. Instead of dealing with the mass murder in Syria, countries prefer to attack Israel, even when it is a lie. Many countries are lacking conscience and don't question their ownactions - instead focusing on Israel. It's easy."

"We can see the change with Nicky Hailey as the US ambassador to the United Nations. This is the best news that has come out of that building in years," she said, adding that Israelis finally feel that we have someone who leads the struggle for justice and morality in a place with lacks those qualities.

"We feel like our voice will finally be heard in the halls of the General Assembly. She has gave us hope, and we look forward to seeing it continue on the path she has started," said the Justice Minister.
