Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) forbade on Sunday senior IDF officials from contacting Palestinian Authority representatives.
The new order does not include PA security officials.
Liberman's decision comes in the wake of the UN Security Council's latest resolution, which was spearheaded by the Palestinian Authority. The PA pressured the Arab League to insist that Egypt, in effect its representative in the UN Security Council, sponsor the resolution. When Egypt recalled its sponsorship, four other countries sponsored it instead.
The new resolution, which is the most extreme ever issued, claims all Israeli towns built outside the pre-1967 borders are illegal and renders their residents international criminals.
Liberman's decision may well impact dozens of Muslim interests in Judea and Samaria, since the IDF provides continual support to the PA activities, aiding their coordination with the Israeli government.
