Ma'ale Adumim Mayor Benny Casriel has strongly criticized the building freeze in Judea and Samaria, explaining that it's a critical blow to his city.

"I am a man of the entire Land of Israel and I think that we need to build in Tapuah just as in Ma'ale Adumim and in Tel Aviv. Our children who were born in Ma'ale Adumim, grew up in Ma'ale Adumim, married in Ma'ale Adumim, and want to build their homes in the city of their birth, cannot do so because there is no construction in Ma'ale Adumim," he told Army Radio.

According to Casriel, "It's already a critical issue. It's simply eviction. Evicting our youths from the city of Ma'ale Adumim. It's not a building freeze anymore, it's an eviction."

Casriel appealed to Prime Minister Netanyahu and said that he must "be brave enough and take into account the support that he will get from Yair Lapid, and of course from Yisrael Beytenu and the Labor party in the opposition, and to build in Ma'ale Adumim.

"For now he has such wide support. I think the Americans might bare their teeth, but they won't fight the State of Israel because they see tat we have a full consensus on the city of Ma'ale Adumim."
