Snow falls in Binyamin and northwestern Jerusalem, shutting down central routes
Snow is falling in the Binyamin region and in northwestern Jerusalem. The snow began to fall on Tuesday afternoon, leading to the closure of several central routes:
Route 443 was closed to traffic in both directions between Shilat Junction and the Ofer detention center, but has since reopened.
Route 60 was closed to traffic in both directions between Ma’avar Michmash Junction and the Palestinian Arab town of Sinjil, but has since reopened.
Route 45 was closed to traffic in the Jerusalem-bound direction from Atarot Junction, but is now open again.
Route 436 was closed to traffic in both directions form Ofer Junction to Ramot, but has since been reopened.
The road between Ma’ale Hachamisha and Kiryat Anavim is closed to traffic.
The road between Psagot and Kochav Ya’akov is closed to traffic in both directions.
The police indicate that additional roads may close to traffic, according to the weather conditions, in order to protect travelers from stormy weather.
The police add that drivers or pedestrians who find themselves in distress and in need of help should call the Police Department’s hotline, 100, and a police car will be sent to help out.
