Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly was full of incitement and proves the Palestinians don’t want peace, Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely told Arutz Sheva on the sidelines of the General Assembly.

In the speech, Abbas declared that the PA is no longer committed to the 1994 Oslo Accords, while condemning Israeli "settlements" in Judea and Samaria, as well as the blockade of Gaza.

“I think it’s clear that the Palestinians are choosing time after time to distance peace, and not doing anything to show the world that they intend to do differently than to support terrorism and anti-Semitism,” said Hotovely.

“I think it’s not a secret that for the last few days the Palestinians have been losing the sympathy of the world. We’ve seen it in the last speeches of the biggest leaders of the world. The leaders of the world are not speaking about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as the main issue. This is not anymore the biggest problem of the world,” she pointed out.

“This is something that the Palestinian Authority should be worried about, but Israel should be happy about,” she concluded.
