Terrorists in Gaza fired a rocket towards Israel on Saturday afternoon, in the latest of a recent escalation. The rocket fell in the Ashkelon Regional Council area, in open fields.
There were no injuries or damage reported from the attack. Before the rocket exploded, the "code red" siren was sounded in the regional communities.
The attack comes a day after a rocket was fired on Friday, landing in the Asheklon region and causing no damages.
On Thursday, four Kassam rockets struck the area around Sderot, again landing in open fields and causing no injuries or damage. The IAF responded with an airstrike on several terror targets in Gaza.
Rocket attacks from Gaza have been picking up in pace again lately, after reaching a peak in mid-March when terrorists showered a barrage of rockets on the Jewish state, firing off at least 100 missiles in three days.
