IDF soldiers came under attack late on Wednesday night as they arrested terror suspects in the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin.
Residents of the town rioted as soldiers began to retreat from the area. Rioters hurled stones and makeshift bombs toward the soldiers’ vehicles, damaging one vehicle so badly that it could no longer be used.
The soldiers responded with riot dispersal methods and with live fire into the air. No soldiers were hurt.
Palestinian Authority sources later claimed that one Arab man was killed in the incident. The IDF is looking into the claim.
A total of 12 terror suspects were arrested over the course of Wednesday night, four of them in Qabatiya. Another was arrested in the town of Nalin, near the Israeli city of Modiin, and three suspects were taken into custody in the Ramallah area.
