The Central Unit of the police's Judea and Samaria District arrested six Palestinian Authority (PA) Arabs Sunday on suspicion that they robbed hundreds of thousands of shekels from Israelis in sting operations.

The police believe that members of the gang ordered goods from Israeli traders including vehicles, clothes, electronic goods and even Dead Sea salt.

Police allege that the gang would set up appointments along Road 443 and then make off with the merchandise without paying for it. Sometimes, they did so while wielding knives and clubs.

Police agents set up a rendezvous with the suspects near the village of Ur el Tahta on Route 443, pretending to be Israeli traders. In the course of the sting operation, police chased gang members into the village on foot, and caught them.

The suspects will be brought to remand before a military judge Tuesday.
