Following complaints by residents of Judea and Samaria about repeated thefts of vehicles and attempts to rob vehicles that are stranded on road shoulders, especially near Maaleh Efraim, the Judea and Samaria Police decided to take action against the problem.
Detectives for the district placed a vehicle at the side of the road Sunday to serve as bait for the thieves, and arrest teams were placed in ambush nearby.
Soon, an Arab car stopped near the supposedly stranded vehicle, and six men climbed out of it. They held tools and quickly began to dismantle the car. They got back into the car that they had come in, after taking various parts of the decoy car, including a radio and speakers.
A little later, the detectives stopped the thieves' car and arrested all six suspects. Their tools and the stolen goods were confiscated. The suspects admitted their crimes and will be arraigned Monday.
