Hebrew University-Hadassah Dental School is providing free care to victims of terror, in a program entitled, “Smiles in Spite of Terror.” Two Los Angeles dentists, Dr. Allan Howard and Dr. Oded Bahat, spearheaded the project, which is directed by Prof. Noah Stern, a former head of the Dental School's Prosthodontics Department. It has already provided dental care to more than 70 people wounded in terror attacks, above and beyond the medical care for more severe injuries to the mouth and face that are covered by the Israel National Insurance Institute. The first patients were those injured in the terrorist bombing last July at a Hebrew University cafeteria, and others include handicapped patients who are unable to walk, children, a bus driver whose bus was blown up, students and new immigrants...



Cucumber Communications, explaining that people "have enough to worry about" and wanting to "at least do something to relieve the financial burden of staying in touch,” has announced the gift of a free hour's worth of calls to its customers. “Even though life in Israel has been precarious for some time now, the onset of war obviously creates a whole new level of concern,” said a Cucumber spokesperson. The free calls are being provided through a calling card called the Chazak (Strength) Card, symbolizing the service as a means for people to strengthen the spirits of their relatives in the region...
