PM Sharon: Iraq Is Our Biggest Threat

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee yesterday, that Iraq, and not the Palestinians, represents the greatest threat to Israel. Sharon added that strategic coordination between Israel and the United States in dealing with Saddam Hussein’s regime “has reached unprecedented dimensions.”

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee yesterday, that Iraq, and not the Palestinians, represents the greatest threat to Israel. Sharon added that strategic coordination between Israel and the United States in dealing with Saddam Hussein’s regime “has reached unprecedented dimensions.” The Prime Minister said that while Israel is not trying to persuade the US to launch an assault on Baghdad, an event that may take place in the next few months regardless, Israel is certainly not opposed to such a move.
