An Arab terrorist convicted of murdering an Israeli man five years ago in a ramming attack was sentenced to life in prison Monday.

In October 2015, Avraham Hasno, a 54-year-old father of seven and a resident of the town of Kiryat Arba, was killed when a truck driven by a Palestinian Authority resident ran him down, then ran his body over a second time.

Hasno had been lured out of his car after terrorists had hurled stones at his vehicle, when suddenly the truck slammed into him.

The terrorist, Shaban al-Titi, was arrested in 2016, after he was released by Palestinian Authority police.

Later that year, al-Titi was convicted of premeditated manslaughter, the equivalent of murder, after having initially been indicted on lesser charges.

On Monday, the IDF court at the Ofer prison, northwest of Jerusalem, sentenced al-Titi to life in prison.

“This is a terrorist who just saw the opportunity to murder a Jew and took advantage of it,” said attorney Haim Bleicher, who represented the Hasno family.

“The situation we have now, where Jews are going around Israel and there are lots of potential terrorists all around – that’s completely unsustainable.”
