There is growing frustration within the Trump administration towards right-wing Israeli opposition to the US peace plan, Jordanian officials say, while the Palestinian Authority celebrates the undermining of Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s efforts to promote his sovereignty plan.

According to a report by Israel Hayom, a number of Jordanian officials have claimed that the Trump administration is increasingly frustrated by criticism of the Trump peace plan and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s plans to apply Israeli sovereignty over parts of Judea and Samaria in accordance with the Trump plan.

"The impression is that the Americans are starting to lose their patience given to opposition to Netanyahu from the Right," the officials said.

The rightist Yamina party has criticized aspects of the sovereignty plan, and the Trump peace plan’s support for Palestinian statehood.

In addition, part of the Yesha Council – the settlement leadership organization which represents Israelis living in Judea and Samaria – has expressed fierce opposition both to the Trump plan and the preliminary outline of the sovereignty plan, claiming it would harm the 15 Israeli towns which are slated to become isolated enclaves.

A Palestinian Authority official celebrated right-wing Israeli criticism of the sovereignty plan, saying “the settlers” were advancing the PA’s interests.

"The settlers' opposition to the plan is doing our work for us."
