Hamas political bureau member Husam Badran demanded on Tuesday that the Palestinian Authority (PA) cease its security coordination with Israel.

"The campaign of arrests carried out by the occupation army, which includes a number of supporters and activists of the movement including the leaders of the movement Rafat Nasif and Adnan al-Hasri from Tulkarem, expresses the arrogance of the occupation in its attitude toward our people," Badran said.

He added, "We are currently facing a Zionist escalation that carries political messages embodied in a threat that there is no safe place."

Badran claimed that “there is no justification for security agreements with Israel, as it renounces all its obligations, and therefore we must return to the path of resistance, unity and strengthening of the internal front and give them national priority in light of the challenges facing the Palestinian issue”, in a reference to the so-called “Deal of the Century”, the Trump administration’s peace initiative.
