A Palestinian Authority resident was arrested Monday morning in Jerusalem after he infiltrated into the Israeli capital city while carrying a knife.

The suspect, a 17-year-old resident of the city of Hevron in Judea, had no permit authorizing him to enter the city.

Authorities say the suspect was apprehended in the Ein Yael forest in southern Jerusalem, after locals notified police of a suspicious person in the area. The suspect was found in the same area where 29-year-old Arafat Irfaya , also a resident of Hevron, raped and murdered 19-year-old Ori Ansbacher in February.

In April, Israeli security forces, including Border Police officers and units from the Defense Ministry’s Civil Administration, demolished two homes in Hevron belonging to Irfaya and his family.
