Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, took part on Wednesday in an event on the fight against anti-Semitism at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston.

Ambassador Danon referred to recent statements in the international community regarding Holocaust remembrance and said that "while a wave of anti-Semitism is sweeping the world, we are witnessing the spreading of lies that damage the memory of the Holocaust.”

"We will not allow Congresswoman Tlaib and extremist elements in Europe to rewrite history and we will not remain silent in the face of those who try to do so," added Danon.

"World leaders must defend the truth as a guarantee for shaping a future without hatred towards Jews and Israel," he continued.

At the initiative of Ambassador Danon, UN ambassadors from Panama, Mexico, Slovenia and Latvia also attended the event. A friendly match between the Chelsea and New England Revolution soccer teams was expected to take place later on Wednesday.
