Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Chad President Idris Deby announced the renewal of diplomatic relations between Chad and Israel. The two sides will sign an official memorandum to renew relations between the two countries in the next few minutes.

The announcement was made during the historic visit of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to Ndjamena, the capital of Chad, where he was received by an honor guard and welcomed by Chad Foreign Minister Mahamat Zene and other dignitaries.

Both sides view the renewal of relations as the key to future cooperation for the benefit of both countries.
