The Republican nominee for this year’s US Senate race in New York denounced the Iranian nuclear deal ahead of an address by President Trump regarding the agreement’s future.

Chele Farley, the Republican candidate for Senate, was also endorsed by the state’s Conservative and Reform parties. Farley hopes to unseat incumbent Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand this November, and win the seat Hillary Clinton held from 2001 to 2009.

During a visit to Jerusalem Tuesday, Farley blasted the Iran nuclear deal, negotiated by the Obama administration, and said that the agreement’s backers “should be held accountable”.

“Never Again is now,” said Farley, following a visit to the Yad Vashem World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem.

“We cannot allow the genocidal regime in Tehran to obtain a nuclear bomb. I call upon President Trump not to recertify the Iran deal on May 12."

President Trump has set May 12th as the deadline for renewing a waiver extending sanctions relief to the Iranian regime. The president is expected to discuss his plans for the May 12th deadline at an address scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.

“Iran is a threat to the free world and that deal should have never been signed,” Farley continued. “Anyone who supported such a terrible deal should be held accountable."

Farley went on to blast Senator Gillibrand over her support for the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

“Kirsten Gillibrand pays lip service to Israel but supported the Iran nuclear deal, which effectively will pave the way to Iranian nuclear weapons. These missiles will not only be pointed at Israel, but also New York. For decades, Tehran has made their stance clear: First they are coming for Israel, then America.”

“Being in Israel has only strengthened my faith and support for this incredible nation. They have risen from the ashes to create a thriving country. As Iran threatens her very existence, Israel must never be forgotten. America has no greater friend in the Middle East. As American patriots we need to stand unwavering in our support for the Jewish State," said Farley.

A strong backer of the Jewish state, Farley criticized Gillibrand for her “failure to stand up” for Israel this March at a National Council of Young Israel event in New York.

“One of the reasons I am running for the United States Senate against incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand is her failure to stand up for this nation’s most important Middle Eastern ally,” Farley said.

Farley has in the past hit Gillibrand for her opposition to the Taylor Force Act, which would penalize the Palestinian Authority for its payments to jailed terrorists.
