Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu explained this morning, Sunday, at a meeting of Likud ministers his positions on possible solutions to the coalition crisis.

"We are working for a stable government that will continue until the end of the term in November 2019," Netanyahu told the ministers. "We have great achievements and no small tasks ahead of us."

"In order for this to happen, all the factions have to reach an agreement and decide that we are continuing together. We are working to try to achieve this, because the citizens of Israel want a stable government that will complete its term," he said.

Netanyahu added, "One thing is clear: A government of 61 seats is unsustainable. That’s clear to everyone. This morning, already, we understood that Likud members are conditioning votes on all sorts of things. 61 is not an option. Therefore, we will continue efforts today to come to a compromise."

The current Netanyahu government, Israel's 34th, was sworn in with 61 members, but MK Avidgor Liberman's Yisrael Beytenu party joined the coalition in May 2016 when he was appointed Defense Minister.

Last night, Netanyahu and the heads of the haredi parties met over the issue of the Draft Law. During the meeting it was clarified that three conditions must be met in order to solve the crisis surrounding the Law: The drafting of a law that would be agreed upon by the attorney general and all the haredi parties, the agreement of Kulanu to support the law until its final enactment, and a commitment that the move would leave all parties in the coalition.
