The Jerusalem District Court on Monday morning ordered the dissolution of the Israeli non-profit organization "La'jnat al Amal," ('The Workers' League').

The decision followed actions taken by the International Legal Forum and Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home).

La'jnat al Amal served as the Israeli conduit for funds donated by foreign governments and foundations to the Union of Agricultural Works Committees (UAWC), a Palestinian Authority committee that is the agricultural division of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a terror organization founded by George Habash and dedicated to the eradication of Israel.

Several weeks ago, the Regavim movement, which works to preserve state lands, exposed the UAWC-initiated campaign to seize control of tens of thousands of dunams of land in strategic locations throughout Judea and Samaria which fall under full Israeli control according to the Oslo Accords.

The method: A massive tree-planting and land-clearing campaign that would re-classify the land and effectively make it impossible for the State of Israel to reclaim it.

Many considered the UAWC to be the Palestinian Authority's equivalent of the JNF.

In a statement, Regavim said the movement "welcomes the Jerusalem District Court's decision to disband the non-profit that funds this enterprise, and calls upon the Minister of Justice to classify the UAWC as a terror organization."

"According to the UAWC's own statements, the land-seizure campaign focuses on strategic areas, including East Jerusalem, the illegal Bedouin encampments in the Maaleh Adumim area and E1, Gush Etzion, the corridor between Jerusalem and Jericho, as well as the area that connects Jerusalem and Ramallah.

"The UAWC campaign was publicized as a part of the Palestinian response to US President Donald Trump's declaration recognizing Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel, and is an element of the 'Shorashim (Roots) Plan' – a comprehensive strategy set in motion by the Palestinian Authority aimed at seizing control of tens of thousands of dunams of land in Area C through agricultural use."

Regavim Policy and Parliamentary Affairs Director Meir Deutsch added, "The court's decision is a welcome first step towards halting the flow of funding for terrorism that is channeled through Israel non-profit organizations, but we must dry up this festering swamp completely."

"It is now clear, beyond a shadow of doubt, that the 'Palestinian JNF' is a terror organization. We call upon Minister of Defense Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) to classify the Union of Agricultural Works Committees as a terror organization, and to take whatever steps are necessary to halt its dangerous activities."
