U.S. President Donald Trump will meet Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Thursday on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, the White House said Tuesday.

The Prime Minister's Office confirmed the details.

This is the first meeting between the prime minister and the president since Trump's declaration on December 6 that the U.S. recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel. The meeting was coordinated following Vice President Mike Pence's visit to Israel.

Netanyahu said before leaving for Davos on Tuesday evening, “Among the leaders I will meet there are French President Emanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. I will tell them that in the coming weeks they will have a last opportunity to try and introduce real – not cosmetic – changes in the dangerous nuclear agreement with Iran. In any case, with or without an agreement, our policy is to prevent the terrorist regime in Iran from arming itself with nuclear weapons, which would endanger us, the Middle East and the entire world."

In addition to Macron and Merkel, Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with a number of world leaders, including Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
