This past year, the “Duvdevan” commando unit proved once again that it is ready for any scenario and challenge. Its fighters embarked on more than 300 missions, which included, inter alia, intelligence gathering activities, arrests and the seizure of numerous weapons.

After all this, it is no wonder that the 2017 IDF Chief of Staff's Award for Excellence was granted to the unit.

Some of Duvdevan's ongoing activities this year included, of course, the thwarting of terror and shooting incidents in the Judea and Samaria region. "In order to cope with changes in the Palestinians' advanced urban routine, the unit invested in special technological tools and was trained in fire while cooperating with the air force," sources in Duvdevan said

"This year dealt with preparations for fighting in all regions - from the North to the South," the deputy commander of the Duvdevan unit, Major M., emphasized. "2017 was a very significant year in our activity, and there is no doubt that in 2018 we will continue to carry out operational activities that are important for maintaining state security "
